As the clinical director of an integrative medicine clinic, I have been noticing more and more patients coming in stressed out about their finances and have anxiety over their livelihoods. In the tradition of Chinese Medicine, we have a concept in treating diseases known as roots and branches. There is this belief that the best doctors do more than trim the branches, they treat the root of the problem.

Many of the most difficult problems of our time from unemployment to environmental degradation, from lack of education to lack of health care are the symptoms of a disease in our economic system. A economic system that sacrifices long-term health for short-term gain. The root of this problem is a money system in which interest concentrates wealth and creates an artificial scarcity. This disease in the system can only be healed by improving the underlying function of how money works.
